HERE'S WHAT I THINK...
Thank you for getting this far into my “blog.” That’s me, pictured in 1979 with my brand new Triumph TR6. I had driven it out of the factory in Coventry England only a few days before. A friend from my previous duty station in Iceland and I had spent a couple of days in London and now I’m pictured at Shipdam Airdrome where my Dad had been stationed during WW2. Dad had taken a trip to Edinburgh Scotland while stationed at Shipdam. In Scotland he had his picture taken in Highland dress, with a sword in one hand and Edinburgh Castle in the background, (do you have any idea what swords and castles can do to a young boy’s imagination). I’m certain he had no idea how that image was to impact my life and that of my soon to be family. The picture was on my Grandma’s living room wall. Guess where I’m headed after I leave Shipdam? You guessed it, Scotland! RAF (Royal Air Force) Edzell to be specific. I’m sure there’s an interesting story buried in there somewhere. Hope you will appreciate my random thoughts.
